A. J. O’Brien, Physical Education Chair, has incorporated Gaetano Amato’s “Upside Right” children’s book into his physical education classes. The book, which is available in the elementary school libraries, shows children how to incorporate different movements into their everyday lives so they become more physically active and less prone to childhood obesity.

Gaetano J. Amato has published a new book entitled “Upside Right”. The book focuses on ways that children can creatively explore their physical environment. Mr. Amato was an elementary school physical education teacher and director of physical education and health in West Hartford until his retirement. He currently serves as the pre-practicum coordinator in the teacher preparation program at Springfield College, his alma mater.

Books from the Get Kids Moving Now! book collection are now in the states of Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Texas! We continue to grow! Thanks to all the support from public libraries and schools in each State.
